Let’s talk about books. I’m really not a novel kind of person, but recently I’ve been so in love with the books I got. The only time I sat down to read a book was the “fifty shades of grey” ( what??? That’s crazy) I know right!. So yea, I haven’t really sat down to read a book. Even when I start a book I never finish reading it. I always read to the middle of the book and get tired of it.
Recently my friend gave me two books to keep myself busy during the holiday. At first I was like “you know I’m never going to like it or even finish it”. But I don’t know I just fell so in love with these books. Who knows reading books would be so relaxing?? I had no idea.
So enough of being hyped and let’s get into it.
I’m going to list the books I read during the holiday.
- “DON’T TELL MOMMY” by Toni Maguire:A story about a lady named Toni. Toni Maguire’s life were perfect, but things change when they decide to move back to Ireland where her father is born. When Toni is six years old, her father made his first improper move on his daughter and he doesn’t stop there. He warns her not to tell anyone, because they would end up blaming her for allowing him to do those things. And in the end even her mother prefers to look away. When Toni finally gathers the courage to tell her father’s little ‘secret’, her mother simply says to never talk about it again. Soon Toni is alone and isolated from friends and family, with nobody to turn to. The abuse goes on for years, and even ends up in a pregnancy and also an abortion.
- “THE PACT” by Jodi Picoult: This is a heart wrenching story of love and betrayal. A story about Chris and Emily who grew up together, even destined to be lovers before they were old enough to talk. Their parents received a phone call that one child is dead and the other is charged with her murder. The Pact is a story of love as much as it is a tragedy, a story that will keep you guessing to the very end.
