This year, I made it a routine to always drink at least one cup of green tea everyday. It has been successful so far, I mean I’ve been obsessed with teas lately.
Green tea wasn’t really my thing to be honest, I used to hate it sooo much back home in Nigeria. And the thing is that non of my family member liked it, we never had it in the house so it wasn’t really a big thing for me. My mom only drinks coffee and Lipton tea and well my dad never drinks any. He is more like a water guy #stay-hydrated.
when I came to Hungary, I kept on drinking coffee like every day. I love Starbucks coffee so everyday, on my way to school I always stop at Starbucks for a cup of coffee. Until one day I decided to try green tea because I had a cold and I was told green tea helps in the recovery process and it helps in the immune system. I tried the green tea with lemon and garlic. At first I hated it,it was the most disgusting thing I ever tasted but as I continued drinking it, I fell in love with it. I started buying different flavors and that was how my journey with green tea started.
I know many people aren’t fans of green tea but seriously guys it has a lot of health benefits.
So here are few facts about green teas;
1. Lower cholesterol level
2. Lower the risk of stroke
3. Helps in weight loss
4. Heart benefits (contains catechins,polyphenolic compounds which has protective effects on the Cardiovascular system)
5. Helps in cancer prevention ( polyphenols decreases tumor growth)
